A Single Tulip by Claudia M

A Single Tulip - Claudia M, Beaver Dam Wisconsin

While I’m the middle of another project on New Year’s Day, I realized it was after noon and the first PQ Challenge would be posted, I stopped everything to check it out.  As I was reading about ONE, I immediately thought about this paper pieced project from a quilt magazine and knew it fit the theme.  Now to find the magazine - which was found quite quickly - surprise!  The prior project was pushed aside and I started going through my scrap bin.  Found the perfect tulip and white backgrounds and started paper piecing.  Had a few greens picked out as well as fabrics for the clay pot but those needed to be changed out as the tulip blossomed.

Tried long arm quilting….let’s just call it a learning experience! Becoming a professional LAQ isn’t in my future.

  1. Beautiful tulip! I think you did a fine job with quilting it on the longarm. It can take quite a few practice pieces to get professional grade stitches!
