Almost everything used on this project is either upcycled or recycled.
There are magnets (from old purses found at garage sales) on the section that lays on top of the desk as well as in the bottoms of the 3 bins - that way I can rearrange them and they won't fall, or vibrate, off the desk. It also helps to keep my cast iron thread holder in place too.
There are 3 pockets on the hanging side as well as a thread catcher.
Since I used a sepia toned newspaper print fabric showing vintage articles, I decided to use a clock face button (recycled from a old jacket) to hold the thread catcher on the organizer.I recycled some 1/2 inch pallet strapping from work to stiffen the thread catcher opening.
I used fabric scraps from other projects and frankenstein'd the batting scraps together.
The pincushion has polyester fiberfill from an old pillow.
The only thing I used that was new was the crushed walnut shells I put in the pincushion...I wasn't able to find that at garage sales. lol

Upcycled/recycled for the WIN!!! You created a set of useful items from unused ones. Magnets to hold the bins in place? Brilliant!!
