I am very happy and excited to be on a quilting cruise from San Diego to Hawaii with 39 other quilters from all over the country. Joan Ford has prepared a mystery quilt and it is phenomenal so far!
Since this is a trip to Hawaii, I packed up batiks of various colors for PQ 14. Did I bring any pink? Nope. The best I could do is the red you see here, with a bit of pink trying to show through.
This 10" project told me how to create it as we went along. The concept became clear and the quilt took shape, but I still had no pink.
Finally yesterday, Joan gave out the next set if fabrics for they mystery quilt. And there, right on top was some pink! There would be at least some scraps I could use. So, the center square was created and stitched on applique style.
All points point to pink!

I think it's awesome that you are sewing along even when traveling and on retreat. Hooray for that dash of pink fabric! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a really pretty quilt, and the pink gets to be the star of the show. I am glad you were able to sew along while you were traveling.
ReplyDeleteWay to make it work. Brilliant 👏
