This project was made by Eva Costurera - while it doesn't quite fit the Project QUILTING 14.5 Sew NOT a Square challenge since it wasn't started during the week of the challenge and will not qualify for prizes - we still wanted to share it since it is an amazing project!
I am the little Corona duck. My sewer started me when we all were at lockdown. Every day sewing on the porch, radio on, a glas of wine or two and trying to survive the time without friends and going out.
I was born in the middle … then she addes the white hexis, then some flowers without a clear plan. She is sometimes beginning without exactly planning and looks if it works intuitiv. Sometimes she needs to use the seamripper. My pieces are small, as you can see at the coin.
In this case the back was the trickiest thing.
There were enough scraps for the back and all the back is covered with hexis. Matching and covering the front ones. Then she did hexis from the yellow fabric. Sewed a piece of fabric and put it under the hexis… then sewed the hexis on this and fixed the back.

You see the needle in the picture to explain. It was the only way to close the back. Quilting was less but nice. And just right in this week the buttons could be sewed on to put me on the front door to welcome the spring time. Soon young ducks will be swimming in the park nearby.
Best regars… Corona the little duck
