Phone Call by Jacomina

This week I conquered my fear of calling a friend of mine who would have gotten the results from her MRI and scans to tell her whether the radiation treatment she got for cancer had been successful or not. The lilac ribbon says it all: she is a cancer survivor (actually multiple times over by now, hence my fear).

The pattern for the phone comes from Kelli Fannin

I have seen her patterns for National Days and all those very small pieces had never appealed to me. But they fit! (another challenge overcome, not necessarily a fear)

But I had also seen this vintage phone pattern where the receiver was off the hook and I liked that better for expressing that I actually called and got the message. https://www.etsy.com/listing/756858594/vintage-phone-pattern-phone-quilt-block?gpla=1&gao=1&
I used electric wire to make it even more realistic.

The background expresses all the emotions running through me, fear as well as elation at the news. The red around the phone is also the fear.
