So Thursday i got a little panicked but knew what fear i wanted to conquer immediately: Traditional binding with a hand stiched back.
I always thought this seems so boring and time consuming and my patience for hand stiching is not existent and therefore i finished my pieces without binding, with fake bindings or facings so far.
I wanted to make several placemats with my sea fabrics and try different tradional binding techniques. I finished only one. My hands are claws. Cramps in all fingers. Can you get gout from hand stiching? And i produced edges which have the feel of bumpy knots. Arrgh. And ugly in the back too.
Well i definetly did not conquer the traditional binding and fear the other placemats will get a fake binding:)
But thank you so much for this wonderful challenge. I enjoyed every single one. Looking very much forward to the next one.
