Chantelle Quilt by Teri D

This is my Chantelle Quilt for the No Squares challenge. Many years ago, I went to the Ricky Tims’ Super Quilt Seminar. I always wanted to try out his caveman style quilting, so I thought this would be fun to try for the challenge.

It’s all free-form cutting, so that was a challenge for me. I didn’t like how I cut the pieces, but I decided to just leave it and keep going. I decided I wanted pieced wavy lines in my borders.

After I put on the first two border, I realized that it wasn’t looking like I had pictured it. I stewed about it until 1:00 A.M, and then realized I didn’t have time to do anything else. Once I got the other two borders sewn on, I decided I liked it a lot.

This reminds me to just keep going because it usually works out in the end.

  1. Congrats on your lovely Chantelle quilt, Teri! I attended one of Ricky's Super Seminars, too, but never made the project. Remarkably enough, I do know where the notebook is currently living in my studio (which is incredible since I have misplaced a set of quilt blocks I had in my hands last week!)
