The "Sky" prompt took me far back to my childhood where, one wintry evening I took a walk in the neighborhood (right past my crush's house!). All of sudden, the sky was filled with dancing lights of so many different colors. I was awestruck but had no idea what was happening (was it a sign from the Universe about my crush?). I watched for what seemed like hours until they started to fade. Once home, I learned that I had seen the Northern Lights for the first (and, so far, only) time in my life. That evening is one of my very best childhood memories and I am grateful for the opportunity to remember it.
I used a variety of materials and techniques, many from a long-ago workshop with Laura Wasilowski. Fusable fabrics, some newer fabrics, Peltex, and batting were mixed with fussy cutting, fusing, piecing, hand sewing, and FMQ. I typically like to have a pattern and a kit so I'm way out of my comfort zone but am having a great time!
