“Green but not envy”

I have done many nine patches and it’s one of my favorite block but this is the first time for an Irish chain.
Since it’s St. Patrick’s day I made a green Irish chain zippy bag. Zippy bags are good for everything and every time I use it, it will remind me of these six fun filled challenges.

I used 2 layer cakes from my stash and a bunch of remnants from some Kaffe (#ad) FQs. 

I spent over 20 hours this week to complete this . Luckily I am retirees and had the time.

 I made an adorable 17.5 x 17.5 Table Topper in an IRISH CHAIN, for the Kids' table on Easter. 

I used cute Chickens, and egg shaped and circles in Easter Egg colors. I think it's really cute.

I had never made an Irish Chain pattern before. I watched the FAT QUARTER SHOP tutorial, and learned so much.  I backed it with a blue fabric, so it is reversible for more times.

I tacked it by hand in several places in the black. I hand sewed the bottom seam.

My MAINE COON, Butterscotch wanted to help, he thinks my new sewing cabinet is fun to explore.

 here is my entry for Irish Chain: I made two 9.5" hot mitts (pot holders?). 

They are bright and fun and have 3 layers of Franken-batting as a lining.

Doll Cradle Quilt by Carol P

My entry is a 22” x 22” doll cradle quilt.
I experimented with a variety of block sizes. The smallest block is 1.5”.
(1/2” patches).

Our guild donates hundreds of cradle quilts each year to accompany handmade wood cradles that are given to children at the holidays.

PQ 15.6 Irish Chain

This week’s theme is Irish Chain. I got more practice thread painting on the flamingoes and the sun.

I had to keep the flamingo theme going!

My quilt is 7”x5”. #ProjectQuilting #pqSeason15

This was created for an online challenge called Project Quilting. You get a week to complete a whole quilt based on a theme. Prizes will be given out by random drawing. Wow! Hard to believe this is the last challenge already! I made a small 11” quilt using batiks. I really like the Irish chain block and plan to use it in larger quilts.

Miniature Irish Chain by Linda B

I have been enamored of miniature quilts of late. I have a 3" pineapple block framed on my wall from a kit purchased years ago. I decided to make a 3" Irish Chain block join it. 

I even bought an extra frame so that I can do another miniature block in the future.
