Orange skies may be a sign that the skies are energized by the sun and weather. It can also make us feel inspired and energized just like this challenge. Orange skies was the inspiration for my quilted journal cover.

Title: Look Out the Window
My sky colors project was inspired by my husband. When the sunset is particularly beautiful or unique he will text me and tell me to look out the window at the sunset so I won't miss it.
My favorite sunsets are the rich reds, deep pinks and purples especially over mountains. My quilt depicts some of my favorite sights to see out of a window: beautiful sunset colors over mountains, wildlife and trees.
It measures 32" x 28", it is sewn blocks with applique mountains, trees and wildlife and free motion machine quilted.
* On a side note, if anyone can tell me how to get the quilt basting spray stains out of the brown "window frame" fabric I'd REALLY appreciate it!

Sunrise, Sunset by Joyce
Had no idea what to do… rummaged among my scraps to pick fun colors reminiscent of sunrise or sunset. Couldn’t decide which, so…….
Here’s my submission, a dual mug rug
“Sunrise, Sunset
: with thanks to Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof”The cool part was doing the inset half circle from a flower that looked like sun rays - it was a new technique for me!!!

Since the peachy colored stash was out for the guild’s BOM, I limited myself to using those scraps. Batiks are so wonderful.
Sky Color by Maren R
this week you made me grow:)
I checked my sky pictures and more than 90 %are just blue with a lot of cerulean. Well but there are others.
I first wanted to make a new hat but then we got Calima and the window in the tiny house of my friend where i am staying is so draughty i thought i make a quilted curtain roll instead. And using one of the sunset pictures as insiration.
I started with the bottom very curvy piecing and found by wednesday that i have to change the procedure or i will never finish by sunday.
And then this morning when i did a final checking i found i sewed somehow wrong and the moon drifted to the right instead of the left
some applique clouds covering the old moon and a new moon. Tata.
And this evening i finished. And i love it.
I missed my frame enormously.
45 hours work
