Sky Color by Maren R

this week you made me grow:)
I checked my sky pictures and more than 90 %are just blue with a lot of cerulean. Well but there are others.

I first wanted to make a new hat but then we got Calima and the window in the tiny house of my friend where i am staying is so draughty i thought i make a quilted curtain roll instead. And using one of the sunset pictures as insiration.

I started with the bottom very curvy piecing and found by wednesday that i have to change the procedure or i will never finish by sunday.

And then this morning when i did a final checking i found i sewed somehow wrong and the moon drifted to the right instead of the left🥴some applique clouds covering the old moon and a new moon. Tata.
And this evening i finished. And i love it.

I missed my frame enormously.

45 hours work
135cm x 120cm
partly curved piecing
Aplique
Reverse Aplique (moon and mirror moon)
quilted in the ditch and some metallic stiches in the moons and water.

Created by Maren Renz for the Project QUILTING 15.2 Sky Color Challenge.
