Walk Around the World

Entry for Project QUILTING Challenge 8.3 – Tuned In To Texture

“Walk around the World”

20170202_210654For years when I travel I photograph streets, cobblestones, mosaics thinking someday...yes that elusive someday...I will use these photos of manhole covers as quilt blocks.

Thanks Kim, Trisha and Project Quilting for someday.

Took me down memory lane of family travel to find photos from the UK and Prague for my texture inspiration. Decided on only four to get er done.  A blessing in disguise  as I ended up with less than a 3 inch strip of grey back ground fabric. Called the quilting done as you can see I just about finished off a spool of thread too.

Thanks also  to Jen of Electric Needle. On Friday night, while on retreat, my feed dogs wouldn't drop.  Emergency repair on Saturday morning allowing a finish. While there I got to feel her texture finish, I recommend you take her up on seeing and touching it.

Loving this quilting community.

Creation at Craftin by the Creek retreat in Rockdale WI.

Finish 51 x 59

  1. I also take pictures of things all around me that I can potentially make into quilts. Nice!
