Title: Hearts a'Flutter
Size: 19" x 16"
This week's challenge coincided with Valentine's Day. A week filled with hearts everywhere. The color wheel and an on-line coloring page gave me inspiration for a fabric piece filled with bright color.
The hearts are are double-sided fabric (Heat n Bond) stitched down the center to allow each to flutter around the winter tree. A few bonded leaves help the color wheel continue. The tree truck and branches are thread painted and small 'scribbled' twigs are all black. Background quilting follows the heart shape of the tree. The border flange like the hearts is varying widths of the same colors as the hearts and leaves. Black binding finishes the frame.
