My Chocolate Easter Bunny by Sandra

My chocolate Easter bunny.

As a small child Easter morning was so exciting.  After breakfast the hunt for the basket of goodies the Easter bunny had left for us.  A little girls fantasy, would there be a big, silver, foil wrapped, milk chocolate bunny, or maybe this year the chocolate bunny would be a real live chocolate spotted bunny?  The live bunny never materialized, but the excitement of the possibility continued each year.

11”x11” square.  Filled with buck wheat hulls and dried lavender.  Background quilted in 2” diamond pattern, raw edge appliqué with hand sewn blanket stitch.

Always have to fight that wrapping! Never the less.. The reward is worth it!

This is hand dyed fabric as back ground and the 'chocolate' is faux upholstery leather I found in a sample book.. The 'wrapping' like foil is actually silver larme fabric.. Oh.. And the Dairy Milk wrap' bit is REAL!.. I bought that choccy and ate it too!!

Chocolate Boxes and Bars by Joan B

Chocolate Boxes and Bars

Decided to go big for this last challenge. Finished lap quilt is 41” by 59”.

I found this fun “Chocolate” fabric and cut the chocolate bars from brown and cream strips.

The corners and edges have boxes of chocolates.

Used green mint green and cherry pink for accents and some fancy machine stitches for the borders. Bars are stitch in the ditch.

Plan to donate this quilt to our Rotary charity auction along with some chocolate treats and a copy of the movie Chocolat.

In Search of the Perfect Chocolate by Diane C

In Search of the Perfect Chocolate, PQ 10.6.

Like most of us, I love chocolate!  I may be a little different, though, because I like chocolate with a high cocoa content, which makes it almost bitter.  These chocolates go great with the big, bold, dry red wine that my husband and I like to drink.

In my project, which measures 27” x 15”, I featured a few varieties of chocolate from one of our San Francisco Bay Area chocolatiers, Ghirardelli.  92% cocoa?  Gotta love it!  Enjoy!

I Heard you have some Chocolate by Nancy H

I Heard You Have Some Chocolate..
Project Quilting Challenge 10.6 ~ Craving Chocolate

A chocolate Easter bunny with both ears bitten off seems appropriate for this challenge. There is one every year in the Sally Forth comic strip.. This is my first attempt at quilting feathers..I will make some adjustments next time, but I’m very happy with them!!

My quilt is 9”x12”. #ProjectQuilting #pqSeason10

This was created for an online challenge called Project Quilting. You get a week to complete a whole quilt based on a theme. Anyone can vote for their favorite.

Homemade Chocolate Candy: Fudge, Bars & More

The Origins of Chocolate by Anneliese B

I just finished my challenge quilt. As a science teacher I looked at the origin of chocolate and have depicted the flowers and pods of the cacao tree as well as the drying beans.

The last block has pieces of chocolate with the Fair Trade symbol that assures chocolate was produced without child slavery.

Box of Chocolates by Shirley Campbell

Box of chocolates  6 1/2 x 11 1/2
Shirley Campbell, Pardeeville, Wisconsin

I decided to do a small project this time. Also, something I knew I could use. I made a mug rug, large enough for my cup of coffee and some chocolate! Or a couple of chocolate chip cookies or a chocolate muffin!

I picked out some ‘chocolatey’ looking fabrics, using 2” (unfinished) squares. I hand quilted using a chocolate colored perle cotton. I used the chocolate chip fabric on the back. Yum!

Homemade Chocolate Candy: Truffles, Bonbons & More

Milky Way Rocket Ship by Carol K

I was pretty excited about the craving chocolate prompt. I don't have many browns in my stash, so a few ideas went by the wayside. I thought maybe I would pick a chocolate colored mum to print, not many flowers are as varied in color as mums. I wasn't satisfied by the colors I could find. I didn't want to do the traditional chocolate bunny, so I thought about wrappers. Luckily, Hubby called me to bring home chocolate. His favorites are Milky Way and Caramello. I thought, Milky Way, Milky Way.....Then, I started singing Drops of Jupiter!

So, to the internet I went for a pic of the Milky Way from the Hubble telescope. I had grand ideas of beads and Lutradur and Transfer Artist Paper and thread painting.

There were about 8 boo boos along the way including leaving my camera at work. Sorry about the broken phone camera pictures.

This is my entry, tiny Milky Way rocket ship heading into the Milky Way Galaxy. I have had THE BEST time for Project Quilting Season 10. Thank you sooooo much.

Hot Fudge Sundae by Cherese C

Hot Fudge Sundae
Created for the Project QUILTING Craving Chocolate Challenge by Cherese Currier

I inspired by chocolate?   I love a hot fudge sundae. It has to be mint chip ice cream though.  This little quilt is easier on the waistline than a real sundae. A sweet indulgence in fabric.

For the Love of Bunny by Cheryl Graham

Title- For the Love of Bunny
created for the Project QUILTING Craving Chocolate Challenge

When I think of chocolate cravings, I naturally think of chocolate candy. At this time of the year, my thoughts then when to chocolate Easter Bunnies. So, my quilt is a slight variation on the chocolate bunny that has the ears standing straight up. I made mine a bit floppy.

The color of the bunny is more of the milk chocolate variety. The fabric also has tiny chocolate Easter eggs throughout. I raw-edged appliquéd the chocolate bunny onto pink fabric to give it a little more interest against the background fabric. The background fabric reminds me of spring and features rabbits, butterflies, frogs and jelly beans.

Thanks!

Cheryl Graham

Abecedary/Abecedarium Poetry by Carol K

I finished. I was inspired to look up Abecedarium and became quite fascinated with the word-- couldn't stop saying it-- and just began to play with words.

I wrote a few poems and a pangram. They are on my facebook post.

This is all commercial cotton. I left the edges raw again....just a stitch near the edges. I don't mind that as it is for a wall.

The goal for this year of PQ was for me to finish a project for each challenge, no excuses. I did it and am so pleased with having done so.
