The Dot Quilt by Teri D

My quilt was inspired by the book The Dot (#ad) by Peter H. Reynolds. It’s a very popular book in elementary classrooms. It’s about a girl who thinks she can’t draw in art class. The teacher tells her to just make a dot and sign her name to her picture. The teacher displays the picture for all the classes. The girl looks at it and decides to do a better one. It becomes a journey of different dot pictures. I can relate to it because I can’t draw either, but I need to remember that I can still create interesting things.

I created my Dots Quilt out of left over strips from a different project. I used the same leftover strips on a different challenge, and still had plenty left for this one. It was a lot of fun to create. The bright colors always make me smile.

Created by Teri Dorn for the Project QUILTING 14.4 A Novel Project Challenge.
