HOLES by Ieke G

The novel I have chosen for this challenge is HOLES (#ad) by Louis Sachar. If I had to bring one book to a deserted island, it would be this one. Though it is written for elementary school readers, there is magic in this novel and each time I read it, I find something else magical about it. The quilt is 8.5" by 11", the size of a sheet of letter paper.

I was a teacher-librarian for 20 years and read this novel to some class each year. I live in North Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Created by Ieke Giese for the Project QUILTING 14.4 A Novel Project Challenge.

  1. There is something about kids' books. Many of my favorites are for 8-14 year olds (maybe I just never grew up!). Love your project, it was definitely one of the most creative for this week of Project Quilting.

  2. Oh my, what a cool project! I loved that book and read it many times to my students over the years. I admire how you think outside the box...er, circles!
