A Hunger by Deborah W

My favorite guilty pleasure is trashy, supernatural romance novels. A novel that I enjoyed is A Hunger Like No Other (#ad) by Kresley Cole. (Note: Novel for mature audiences only. Quilt safe for all ages!)

In the story, Lachlain MacRieve, a Scot who is king of the lycaes (werewolves) breaks away from 150 years of torture by a never-ending fire to claim his fated mate. In my 26" x 30" quilt, the paper pieced wolf includes a plaid to represent Scotland and flames to acknowledge his recent captivity. I purchased the pattern from #nerdyquilterdesigns.

His fated mate, Emmaline Troy, is half Valkyrie/half vampire. When she experiences strong emotion, lightning fills the sky. For her, I appliqued shiny silver lightning bolts.

For both, when the moon is full, the magic really happens.

  1. Thanks for sharing the reasons behind your choice of imagery to represent your book. Trashy romance novels, yes. Can't say that I've ever read a supernatural romance novel, though. You make it sound so interesting, Deborah!
