Here is my entry for the Bright Challenge! I call it Bright Local Color. I used the AccuQuilt die Local Color and bright Kona Cottons. I used 6 main colors and then chose secondary colors to compliment them. At one point I had over 400 pins in the pieces as I pieced in large batches.
My quilt is roughly 84 x 65 inches. I had more rows cut out but I was done piecing so they will become a pillow or a bag or some other project. This is my first time piecing curves so it was quite a challenge. I sewed this at the Electric Needle in Madison, WI. I quilted this with turquoise thread on the long arm and used the magic binding technique for the first time.

So pretty. I like all the colors and am assuming the little orange peel slices are the middle colors. Is it appliqued to the block or pieced in?
ReplyDeleteThe complete quilt is pieced. No applique.

DeleteI love this, and what a great use for that die. But your first crack at curves?! Underachiever.
