NICU quilt by Clare

This is a small quilt, 32” x 32”, which will be used as an isolette, a special purpose cover
for use in a NICU to control the light environment of a baby.

Blue is January’s Rainbow Scrap Challenge colour, (from https://superscrappy.blogspot.com/p/rsc-2023.html), so I had fun pulling out blues in light, medium and dark to make my own ‘plaid' fabric.

Cruising in Plaid by Melissa B

I wanted to make a quilted wall hanging to hang on our cabin door on our upcoming valentine day cruise. I looked up plaid quilt ideas and made my own plaid look blocks. I used a pink plaid fabric for the binding. I realized I had no plaid in my stash , so I guess that means I need fabric!

This is my Submission for the project quilting season 17:2 Scads of Plaid.

 

I had gone to my fabric stash and had pulled several different plaids and starting to work on a idea when I by chance at the fabric store yesterday saw this wonderful Christmas plaid ( on sale ) so I made this oven mitt -I had made several for Christmas presents in 2025 and now I am one Gift ahead for Christmas 2026.

New Day by Patty

This is my first time doing a quilting challenge.

 
As suggested in the initial post announcing the topic, Clean Slate, I took a blank notebook and just started to draw ideas. This was the third idea I had but the first one that I thought I could try to make it into a quilt.

I’ve been wanting to make a new bag from some pretty batik strips in my stash! 

White is the presence of all color right!!! In addition the county where I live has eliminated all plastic bags AND paper bags cost 10 cents!! So I need a new bag with me when I go to the store!!

Clean Slate by Melissa R

I decided to make a quilted piece of fabric paper. It is 2 sided, just like a notebook paper. I covered both sides with vinyl so I can use it with dry erase marker. Starting my quilting to do list with a " clean slate".

Scraps from my Dad’s ties, costumes I made for a performance at church, a bit of purple velvet from a fancy Renaissance costume I made 40 years ago other special fabrics.
The blue brocade in the background was used for the backing to give it some stability and weight. It’s 19”square.
