Texas Spring Blooms by JeanAnn F

I was committed to finishing all 6 of the 2018 challenges.  DID IT!

Thank you for helping me occupy some winter days with challenges that were filled with design, color and stories.

Respectfully

Minnesota is still covered in snow but my Texas relatives are enjoying Spring Flowers.

If not all in bloom today, theses soon will be: Blue Bonnets, Indian Paintbrushes, Mexican Hats, Primroses and Black-eyed Susans.  Maybe not a scrap buster, but bits of many fabrics brought the bouquet together.

This wall hanging was inspired with a suggestion from a Texas cousin. My family knows I was committed to finishing all 6 challenges. Making this one for Cindy truly made this last challenge joyful.

The challenge asked that we use at 12 different fabrics. By the time I assigned colors to each flower I ended up with 15.  This was FUN!

Flowers were appliquéd to the background and threads added details. After floating some green leaves the piece  was echo-quilted with thread matching the background fabric. I had just enough green from the leaves to add a border flange and the binding matches the background.
