Hourglass by Robyn W

PQ15.4 “HOURGLASS”
Robyn Wimmer

Hourglass…hmm.

Technically, I’m not much of a real quilter; I prefer calling myself a Fiber Arts artist.

In fact, I can only think of a few quilt patterns I’ve ever followed including two Five Patch quilts for my twin granddaughters. Maybe a few Bento Box lap quilts, a couple of Turning Twenties. But most of the time, it’s random blocks, usually for a Project Linus or Guild/Church donation.

When Trisha announced PQ15.4 “Hourglass” I wasn’t interested in doing the traditional block. Instead, I immediately thought of my life. Well, my husband’s and mine…

I created an hourglass along with question marks because we’re beginning to ask ourselves, “How much longer should we live at the lake? When should we sell? Where should we move? What are we going to do with all our stuff?

My hourglass is filled with a lot of love but we still have plenty of room for more although I doubt we’ll find another beautiful pine forest to surround us. It’ll most likely be in a city with services close by!

  1. Hi Robyn, I'm back in PQ this year after many years off. You're still at the lake...I think you were thinking how much longer when I last wrote to you. I hope all is well. I'm flitting between Oregon and Florida now. Florida today.

  2. Congrats on tackling some tough questions with your PQ 15.4 challenge entry! We moved into a quirky multi-level home 2 years ago and DH is already beginning to ask the same types of concerns that your quilt addresses. Best of luck with making those decisions!
