Title- Ode to Dad
My father-in-law collected elephants. Sometimes people would give them to him and sometimes he would buy them in different countries when he was an evangelistic missionary. I’ve used bright colors as a border to represent Africa and India where I know he traveled. After he passed away in 2001, my husband and I inherited his elephant collection, most of which are wooden elephants. I think about him every time I see these elephants.
The mini quilt was made with one-inch squares for the elephant which is appliquéd to the green fabric. Both the elephant fabric and the green background fabric remind me of pixels also.
