Result…… 16 x 16 Appliqued Pillow
I love to bake Artisan Breads~ And, what 'rules' when we bake? “Mr. Wheat” rules, so, I found the cool Mr. Wheat clip.., put him in my bread box and BAKED up bread... and lots of wheat based goodies..thus the waving wheat background fabric was perfect..
Size requirement 16 x 8 = 128 square inches so, I felt an at least 12 x 12 pillow equaling 144 square inches should fulfill requirements.. Mine turns out to be 16 x 16…= 256 square inches….
I found many ‘appropriate” clip art pictures to fill my breadbox; [not just bread; but also lots of sweets]
I next sized the clips; printed the pictures on fabric with my ink jet printer; fussy cut all the goodies; filled the bread box and appliqued the goodies in place…Finally I QUILTED... then, quilted more… QUILTED till everything looked nice and “Quilty”.
P.S.-next to/below the bread box is a toaster, butter, and P B and Jelly!!
A good pillow needs a nice, piped finish edge, so I refreshed some basic sewing skills, made, and applied coordinating piping; lastly… trimmed, turned, stuffed the finished form; closed the opening and HURRAY…a Pillow for My Couch!
Thanks! ~ Project QUILTING Challenge 10.3….!
