Seed Bag Tote by Denise K

This tote bag is 16 1/2" tall and 14" wide.  It has a pocket across the front, and one inside. I started and finished it today!  It is going to be donated as a raffle item to the Kaw Valley Seed Fair to be held this next Saturday in Lawrence, KS.

The lettering is pieced, using Tonya Ricucci's book WORD PLAY QUILTS.  The rest of it is foundation pieced, on a piece of heavy yellow material.  The handles are made of the same yellow material.  I used scraps of fabric with lots of veggie patterns left from a friend's apron project  to go with the seed theme.

The pattern is made up, just trying to use up the yellow material I had (about 24"X44").  The bottom of the bag is "boxed".  The back is more veggie prints in a log cabin sort of arrangement.

Created for the Project QUILTING “Bigger than a Breadbox” challenge by Denise Kester, Lawrence, Kansas.

  1. This bag just says Summer! I love that you put the word SEEDS on the side.
