Sky Color by Adrienne F

Here is my finished quilt depicting the sky I saw on my walk in the neighborhood near sundown on a cloudy day. I'm not sure how it got to be the shape it became. It had something to do with the expanse of sky I see here. I spent so many years in NYC where one can see slips and bits of the sky between the tall buildings.

To see the expanse of sky here is a real treat. I tried to capture the herringbone clouds that formed in waves, the moon rise and the haze surrounding the obscured sunshine.

Created by Adrienne Ford for the Project QUILTING 15.2 Sky Color Challenge.
