My Hometown Proud interpretation, just a small one--6" finished. I've always been proud of each of the cities I've lived in (all in CA).
Home is Where the Heart Is (or was), in South San Francisco, Eureka, Merced, Newark, and now Fremont.

“Hometown Proud” is 10 x 13” wall hanging made using appliqué techniques. Tucson is home to the stately saguaro cactus and there are thousands throughout the city and surrounding countryside.
We are located in the Sonoran Desert and these cacti are unique to this area and are not found in any other place in the world.”

I completed my first ever Project Quilting Challenge! You have to make a quilt on a specific topic, within a week. It was lots of fun.
What makes my hometown of Muskego special? The lakes of course! Little Muskego, Big Muskego and Denoon. My quilt is 5" square with appliquéd lakes and quilted roads. I used google maps to get outlines of the lakes and layout of the roads.
Now, I'm eligible to win a prize. You can vote for your favorite starting Sunday afternoon.

Goderich Township, Ontario, Canada--this 16 x16" piece is based loosely on the logo of the rural township, Goderich Township, where we live and farm. It covers many things that I enjoy about living here. Our township's land is one of the most productive for growing crops, including wheat, in our province.
We are located on the west coast of Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes. We have gorgeous sunsets--beautiful enough that National Geographic has put ours in the top ten in the world! The red binding is to represent the apple orchards that are in the township.

I'm done. Happy I had a good start on my ideas before you posted yours....which is fabulous!!! I did the lighthouse and light station, plus included my favourite Java Dock and my bike which I love to ride here in Port. I stitched sea gulls into my background for quilting and included the "harbour" as the centre of town. I also added our home...can you spot it? The "stone"one. So happy I finished, has 3 total days of not being able to be in my sewing room!
Oh, and the "fish" of Fish Day LOL!
Oh, one more thing, I split one of the wedges to make 2 trees to represent the upper lake park. Wanted to do Possibility Playground, but will hold that thought for perhaps another "Challenge"

This was a true challenge for me, the center square is a picture of our now vacant school, which I had to get it on my computer so I could print the picture on fabric, but I did it.
