Urban Trek by Judy C

The quilt pattern is called Urban Trek and I wanted to see how it would look with floral fabric.

The repetition of the stripes and circles worked great for the theme.

Pillow Shams by Maureen

I made the quilt a few years ago, but never got around to making pillow shams. Sooooo, for Project QUILTING 13.5 I repeated myself and made 2 shams using half square triangles and a flannel flange.

Finally, Four Felines by Chris C

Remind me not to start a bigger project for the challenge on a Thursday! But here it is, Finally, Four Felines.

I've wanted to make this pattern since last year and the snail's trail challenge, but didn't have enough fabric with me at my parents' house to do it then.

So Many Squares by Teri Dorn

This is my So Many Squares quilt.

I looked through one of the links that was shared on the Project Quilting site for ideas. Then I remembered that I had ripped out an idea from a quilt magazine a few years ago that would be perfect for this challenge.

I’m not a fan of raw edge appliqué, but turning under the edges would have been too difficult. I used my AccuQuilt Go for the squares. Then I cut out some of the centers. It’s really fun to just play and not worry about being perfect.

I do better quilting with rulers. I tried out a new ruler and had a lot of difficulty with the circles. After a lot of mistakes, I finally found that I just needed to rotate the ruler to have a bigger area to hold on to. The last row of circles came out really well.

I also was playing around with using a design on the binding. It was much faster than hand sewing the binding to the back.

Thank you so much for doing these challenges. I have tried out something new on each one!

Little Neighborhood in the Green by Iris M

Thanks to your pep-talk yesterday, I stopped planning and started making.

It seemed way to much possibilities this time and I had difficulties to decide and get it done or at least started. I had done one project for march from the NQM BOM that would be perfect for this repetition and rhyme challenge. Only for so long until I realized just a block only wouldn't qualify the rules. So I started thinking again.
In the end I decided for this little mini quilt:

A little neighbourhood in the greens
surrounded and protected by a fence of flowers. A save and peaceful place for friends and strangers in such challenging and troublesome times.

Twinkle Lights by Hannah D

 Title: Twinkle Lights

Size: 27" x 36"

This week I decided to use a very simple block for my repeating element. I designed the layout and color scheme in Electric Quilt. I ended up making 75 of the blocks and added 33 solid squares in between.

As I was sewing, the colors kept reminding me of strings of twinkle lights against the night sky. This wasn't my initial design inspiration, but I really like how the quilt turned out.

On Wisconsin by Darcy M

Well went I went to make my project I realized almost all my sewing stuff is at my friend Jodi’s. So I improvised. I needed a pillow case for my travel pillow so I made it out of ON Wisconsin fabric from one of the Wisconsin shop hops fabrics.

The sheet music repeats ON WISCONSIN over and over.

Not exactly what I planned but with the Badgers game tomorrow it seems appropriate and now I have a pillow case for my travel pillow.

Herringbone by Caroline MVF

When I read “Rhythm and repetition“ I automatically thought of Victoria’s book… the “Herringbone” pattern called for 2 inch strip, in my stash I had the said strip in the yellow and bird house fabric.

I used that as a color guide line for a body pillow case.

Triple Negative by Karin

I rendered "Triple Negative" in patchwork, paint, and hand quilting this week.  It is representative of 3 triple negative breast cancer cells.  One of my dearest and oldest friends is battling triple negative on the other side of the country and I can't go be there for her because of COVID.  I began this project on Thursday, 3/3 and finished on Saturday 3/5.  The quilt measures 13.5 x 20.5 inches.

I researched triple negative cells on google image. I based my design this photoCredit: Christoph Burgstedt/Science Photo Library/Getty Images/

Rhythm & Repetition by Nancy W

I’ve had this old wooden stamp for years and tried to use acrylic paint to stamp on fabric.

It didn’t turn out as I had hoped so I drew the design on the fabric and thread painted it.
