Lobster Bag by Robin B.

I’m 70 years old and almost blind in my left eye.  Cutting evenly is hard for me. I started sewing about 4 years ago, except for the occasional mending job.

My pal and I were in the Goodwill when she spied a box of heavy weight fabrics donated by an upholstery shop. All red and white; some large pieces, some small, nothing cut in a straight line.

There was a narrow piece of the lobster print, so I decided that would be my fussy cut.  The lining and straps and front and back are all different prints.

I enjoyed making this tote bag and learned a lesson about cutting with your ruler on the piece of fabric you want to use.
