Cow Tags by Holly

My first try at the Project Quilting challenge! It was a race to the finish because we were busy working cows the last few days. Yesterday we poured and tagged cows. As the Winter months roll into the Spring months, our family starts preparing for calving season. One of the projects that need to be done is making sure all the all the mama cows have tags. This helps us keep the cows and calves paired up for the rest of the year. We also remove the smaller calf tags and put in bigger, easier to read cow tags.

Yesterday I noticed all the random tags laying on the work table and thought that would be a cute mini quilt. So here we are! I pulled the fabric from my mom’s stash - the jeans are my Gma Shirley’s. Our family farm has been in our family for YEARS. So it using my Gma’s jeans are a perfect sentiment to add. It finishes out at 5”x7” and will go on my desk when I return to work. #projectquilting

  1. Nice job on adding special meaning to your PQ12.1 entry!! I particularly like the fact that you used a bit of Gma Shirley's jeans, Holly. LOVE using old denim in quilt projects!
