Mythical Creature by Deb A

My first submission to the Project Quilting Challenge--this unicorn is a combination of piecing, applique, and hand embroidery, and is quilted and faced, approximately 12 inches square. I learned recently that in some cultures the unicorn is a symbol of wisdom, integrity, and strong spirit. 


In addition, the extremely durable horn represents immortality. I'm approaching involvement in this challenge as a learning experience, stretching my creativity and strengthening my skills under just a touch of pressure, with only a week to complete each challenge. Looking forward to it!
