Inside Out by Jacomina

Sticking to the theme of using what happens to come into my hands the week of the challenge, I helped to clean out the sewing legacy of someone moving into a retirement community. Included were two flannels: dark blue and red, printed with scotties. That reminded me of the guild's BOM blocks I won one year (very long time ago, buried as UFO), 22 appliqued scotty dog blocks.

This is the first time I made a rag quilt: a prototype using two blocks. I sashed them with scotty flannel, put white flannel in the middle, outline quilted the scotty, with the blue flannel on the back. Two blocks is enough to cover my daughter's doll bed for her American girl doll. Maybe, some day, my granddaughter will want to play with her mother's doll.

Good thing I made a prototype. It is not easy to cut just up to the seam. I may not use this method for the remaining 20 blocks which "should" be made into a donation quilt.
