Hourglass by Maren R

Still traveling, so when i read the headline: "make a whole Quilt in one week" i panicked a little bit and thought impossible with hand sewing for me ( had a bedsize Quilt in mind). Already searching for a machine trader where i might use a machine for a while....then i continued reading and calmed. o k. possible even with hand sewing, but nevertheless visited the trader. Machines could not be used but i found something interesting: Already Quilted fabric.

So i went Marcel Duchamp like and bought my ready made quilted fabric, nicely squared up, made a border all by hand and embroidered the hourglass structure.

when i finished i discovered i embroidered the backside. Oh my ! Alzheimer at 52 that's bad.....

My husband thinks it is just a sign that i made even the backside beautiful so that i did not discover it until i took the pictures. Well how kind.....

25*25cm

had a lot of fun but glad that i will have my machine for the next challenge.

Created by Maren Renz for the Project QUILTING 15.4 Hourglass Challenge.
