Only Eight by JeanAnn Fenrich

I am JeanAnn Fenrich, retired and enjoying working with fabric and fiber in Maple Grove, MN.

My piece is 17" x 12".

Title: "Only Eight"

It wasn't long ago scientist decided Pluto was not a planet so we only have 8 in our solar system now.  Fabric for my solar flare didn't naturally shift from dark to light so I cut it apart in 1" squares to reassemble in values I preferred. Found 8 bits in my stash that 'felt' like planets. This year I want to better my skills with satin stitch so decided to use a varying width to create each planet's path. jeanann 2

This may be my art quilt this week, but think my grandson might enjoy as a placemat for lunch.

Created for the Project QUILTING Challenge: Eight is Great

  5. Your quilt makes me sad...for Pluto. It's really missing out here! Your fabrics are perfect for the planets, and I love the satin stitch orbits.
