‘Cabin in the Woods’ by Cheryl Snellgrove

My chosen Cherrywood color was green, used on the cabin's roof & sky. I titled my piece, "Cabin the Woods."

I used the basic log cabin block as my inspiration but decided to change all the seams to curved seams. It was a challenge to piece. Since the seams were curved, I quilted each block with straight lines. After much encouragement from my quilting friends, I jumped into this challenge pool!

  1. I was wondering how a log cabin would look with curved seams and now I know. This is a great little quilt.

  3. Oh, Cheryl, we thought along the same lines! Originally, I had thought to use a 3" paperpieced cabin I have for the center, much the same concept (and the same name!) as yours. So glad i went another direction - yours is so much cuter than mine would have been. Love the movement given by the curved piecing.
