Ab Intra by Judy V
I love Marcia Derse fabric for both her color and use of line. I also have wanted to make a pattern like this for some time and it all came together for this quilt.
I tried to use some of the arcs in my quilting. 42x52.

I call it “Unzipped”. It’s 12”x 14”.
Thank you for this wonderful season of quilt challenges. They have been great fun. This year in particular. I think, I appreciated the extra sparks to ignite my creativity.

Meaningful by Carolyn
For this challenge, I used fabric that I purchased right after I found out I was pregnant at 39 1/2 years old; I always wanted to be a mom. Each fabric has a special meaning to me.

My Gift - A Journal CoverLiz Mandelkow

I enjoy gifting the things I create. My friend so enjoyed a journal cover that I made for the previous challenge that I decided I needed to make another.
I made this with leftover fabric scraps vintage linens that I found at a thrift store.
This is the back.
This is the inside flaps and the notebook that I put inside.
This makes me happy. From my hands and heart, a gift for a dear friend.
Mountain by Robyn Wimmer
That's me, rising above the mountain of family treasures and junk we dumped after closing on our Fargo condo last fall just before driving to Madison for the winter. There’s a lot to go through but I know I can and will do it, beginning this week. I believe my 'inner self' is someone who makes a plan and carries it out. I get things done.
SPOILER ALERT: my hair isn't really dark brown but I didn't think silver would work here.

This week's challenge was a gift. I pondered, looked at fabrics I've been moved to purchase lately without a specific project in mind, thought about my pre-retirement and post-retirement time, and considered the gifts of #covidtime for #covidcreations. Somehow, it turned in to this project, for which I am now grateful.
Balanced Life by Bryan
Title: balanced life
Looking over the past couple years, a large part has been a journey to find balance. I thought this Tree of life within yin/yang symbol captures that thought.Saturday, March 20, 2021
Mixed Messages by Sharon S
This is my first challenge of the season but when it was announced I immediately knew that I wanted to participate. A friend and I had just had a discussion about the messages that society gave us as we are of an age that our career choices were pretty limited to housewife, secretary, teacher and nurse. We were never really exposed to options so that we might have had bigger dreams. So for me the making of a messenger bag was a great symbol for this.
And during the construction as I thought more about the “messages” concept I started to find examples from within me of deep concerns about the mixed messages that we have been receiving from political and religious leaders that are tending to create divisions within family, friendship groups, communities and between various other groups of people.

A Slice of Lime by Kerstin Z
A slice of lime
From inside - while cutting cucumber for a salad I got the idea: the profile of some fruit or vegetable. The fruit I liked most was a lime - also because I had the right scraps of fabric. Now with a size of 11x11 inch it is more a mat than a coaster and definitely too big for a pot holder - which was my original intention for a useable result.

Up North Quilt by Donna A
Well, I did it, just got done, great feeling. This was difficult, just the decision more than anything.
But I truly love a trip to the woods and I had this new pattern, which I love a new pattern, by pen and paper patterns called "Up North Quilt".
So got busy and here it is, thanks so much for all the great challenges, Donna

Butterfly by Nancy H
This week’s challenge is Latin for “From Within”. I thought about the butterfly merging from within the chrysalis. I embroidered a butterfly and created a chrysalis by embroidering one wing and covering it with black and silver tulle. The last picture shows all 6 of my PQ12 challenge placemats!
This was created for an online challenge called Project Quilting. You get a week to complete a whole quilt based on a theme. Prizes will be given out by random drawing. Each week is a different theme.

I decided to make all 6 PQ challenges 18”x12” this year so I’ll have a set of placemats when I’m done. I’m putting a different purple batik on the back of each of them so they are reversible. I’m using a different fancy stitch for each to attach the binding. For the label, I’m writing on the back on the binding.
