This week's challenge was a gift. I pondered, looked at fabrics I've been moved to purchase lately without a specific project in mind, thought about my pre-retirement and post-retirement time, and considered the gifts of #covidtime for #covidcreations. Somehow, it turned in to this project, for which I am now grateful.
I still am represented by the black/white/red side as my linear/sequential, mathematical, organized efficient, focused, boxed in, enneagram 1 self.
However, by reconnecting with my full self through nature, family, growth, music, personal reflection, journaling and sewing, I am also represented by the colorful open-ended side. I also was able to realize the important role sewing has played throughout my life - represented by the bubblish pieces from my wedding dress, daughter's first birthday outfit, son's nursery fabric, fabric used to sew for breast cancer patients, projects for the grandkids, a baby quilt for a former employee's new little one, costumes for High School musicals, and more.
Created by Lisa Rawlings for the Project QUILTING Ab Intra Challenge.

I really, really like this - the colors, the way you quilted it. Great quilt.
ReplyDeleteReserved on the front, party in the back! Thanks for sharing both sides of yourself in such a creative way. :o))
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic! It looks like they took quite a bit of time to sew in a short time frame.
