Irish Chain by Maren R
We found a very antique machine at her in laws attic. O.k. Another day cleaning and oiling. And then i couldn't get the tension right for the threads i had. Fortunately there had been 2 old and dusty Spools of thread in the machine. With this thread she worked. It was already sunday by then. I thought i will never manage my design in one day. So i decided to make it traditionally with some lovely greenish, Spring coloured batiks. And just finished the runner.
I still want to quilt it but not with this machine and the beige thread:)

Green by Not Envy by Lily H
Since it’s St. Patrick’s day I made a green Irish chain zippy bag. Zippy bags are good for everything and every time I use it, it will remind me of these six fun filled challenges.

here is my entry for Irish Chain: I made two 9.5" hot mitts (pot holders?).
They are bright and fun and have 3 layers of Franken-batting as a lining.

Doll Cradle Quilt by Carol P
I experimented with a variety of block sizes. The smallest block is 1.5”.
(1/2” patches).
Our guild donates hundreds of cradle quilts each year to accompany handmade wood cradles that are given to children at the holidays.

This week’s theme is Irish Chain. I got more practice thread painting on the flamingoes and the sun.
I had to keep the flamingo theme going!
My quilt is 7”x5”. #ProjectQuilting #pqSeason15
This was created for an online challenge called Project Quilting. You get a week to complete a whole quilt based on a theme. Prizes will be given out by random drawing. I decided to make all 6 PQ challenges 7”x5” this year so I’ll have a set of postcards when I’m done. For the label, I’m writing on the back with a fabric marker.

This week’s theme is Wearables. I made flamingoes out of pink denim with a blue denim background. The denim came from old pairs of shorts or jeans. I thought I’d keep the flamingo theme going!

Lace on Jeans by Amanda R
Lace on Jeans
I've been fiddling with upcycling for a few weeks especially with the many pairs of jeans I have! By inserting triangles to make bell bottoms etc but I really like the lacey bottoms.. I have a pair of leggings with these lacy bell bottoms sort of so I cut them off and sewed to the jeans.. They look great and I've already worn them the other night out.

Flower Pins by Teri D
Flower Pins - I thought about making some sort of pin using a tie-dyed shirt that didn't turn out well. As I was looking for ideas on Pinterest. I found directions to make No-Sew Flowers. I liked that idea better than what I was thinking. I just traced a couple of circles that I thought would be a good size. They ended up being the size of a penny! I started over and found much bigger circles to use. I planned on using some flower buttons that I bought from a quilt store. When it was time to put them on, I realized that they weren't in my bag. The store was 30 minutes away, so I started thinking maybe I could use yo-yos instead. Then I realized that the original flowers were about that size. I used them to finish the flower pins.
