Irish Chain by Maren R

I thought the easiest Irish Chain is with a 9 patch. I wanted to make it irregular. So took 2 days for my design and calculation. Then i borrowed my sisters sewing machine since i had to be at my parents place this week. Cleaned it very thorough and oiled everything to discover that a cable was missing and we spent a morning searching for it. Without success.

We found a very antique machine at her in laws attic. O.k. Another day cleaning and oiling. And then i couldn't get the tension right for the threads i had. Fortunately there had been 2 old and dusty Spools of thread in the machine. With this thread she worked. It was already sunday by then. I thought i will never manage my design in one day. So i decided to make it traditionally with some lovely greenish, Spring coloured batiks. And just finished the runner.

I still want to quilt it but not with this machine and the beige thread:)
