To be honest, when I first read this week's challenge I wasn't exactly thrilled with it. I just wasn't feeling very inspired and it didn't feel like my style. I decided I needed to go with a more subtle kitchen influence. While looking around for inspiration, I came across the interesting squiggly shape of... a potato masher.
It's definitely not the most conventional inspiration! I recreated the shape and turned it into a more abstract, modern design. The squiggles are turned edge applique that were then machine sewn with clear thread. In the end, I was happier with this challenge than I initially thought I'd be. I just had to think outside the box!
